What does a new website deliver in its first month? The GeoRubber case
7 July 2026

Straight answer: in its first month online, georubber.cl (roof waterproofing, Santiago) recorded 19 quote requests, around 1,300 visits, a Google Ads cost per click that fell by more than 80% as the campaign learned, and position 2 on Google for "waterproofing". What did NOT happen in a month: organic clicks at volume. SEO germinates over months; the initial flow came from well-measured Ads.
The internet is full of marketing promises and short on real numbers. This is one of our cases, with real data from Google Analytics, Search Console and Google Ads, published with the client's permission. It includes what worked fast and what hasn't yet, because a case without the slow part isn't a case, it's an ad.
The starting point
GeoRubber is a membrane roof-waterproofing company in Santiago. Quality work, satisfied clients and the same problem as thousands of small businesses: its digital presence reflected none of that, right when someone with a leak searches for who to call.
The new site was built and shipped to production in about two weeks. From day one it had full measurement (Google Analytics and Search Console connected), structured data for search engines and AI, and Google Ads campaigns pointing at the searches that matter: leaks, drips, waterproofing.
Week by week
| When | What happened |
|---|---|
| Week 0 | Site in production with measurement connected from day one |
| Week 1 | First Ads campaigns live; peak of 590 visits; high CPC: Google is in its learning period |
| Week 2 | Technical optimisation: PageSpeed performance from 91 to 99/100, llms.txt for AI agents, a leaks pillar page |
| Week 3 | The learning pays off: CPC drops to under a fifth of the start; the site already appears at position 2 for "waterproofing" |
| Week 4 | Full AEO audit: from 58 to 100/100, with all 6 pages legible to search engines and AI |
The first month's numbers
- 19 quote requests received via form and WhatsApp.
- ~1,300 visits in the first 3 full weeks of measurement.
- CPC cut by more than 80%: the Ads spend was modest and in its learning period; what matters isn't how much was spent, it's that each click ended up costing under a fifth of what it did at the start.
- An 8.7% conversion rate on the best campaign (leaks), with a cost per quote that, for a service whose ticket runs into the hundreds, pays for itself with a single close.
- Position 2 on Google for "waterproofing" three weeks into the domain's life.
What did NOT happen in the first month (and that's fine)
Honesty first: organic Google traffic was almost zero. Search impressions grew week by week (from 19 to 54 weekly), and position 2 for "waterproofing" hasn't yet turned into clicks. That's normal: a new domain's SEO germinates over months, not weeks. Anyone promising you "first page in 30 days" with real organic traffic is selling smoke.
That's why the strategy ran in two tempos: Ads to generate customer flow from week one, while organic and AI visibility build underneath, with patience and good technique.
What made the difference
- Measurement from day one. With no measured conversions, Google Ads doesn't learn and the CPC doesn't fall. That 80%-plus drop is the system learning with data we gave it.
- Weekly iteration. The site wasn't handed over and abandoned: every week the data was reviewed and something concrete adjusted (speed, content, campaigns, schema).
- AEO from birth. Structured data, llms.txt and content that answers questions made the site legible to search engines and to the AIs that increasingly recommend local services.
- Focus on what converts. The leaks campaign converts at double the rate and under half the cost of the generic ones. Spotting that in time is the difference between investing and burning money.
Frequently asked
How long does a new website take to appear on Google? Indexing: days or weeks if it's well built. Ranking with clicks: months. GeoRubber reached position 2 in 3 weeks, but organic volume was still on its way.
Is Google Ads worth it from day one? Yes, if you measure conversions. The learning period is expensive at first and cheap afterwards, but only if the system receives data on what converts.
What is AEO? Preparing your site so search engines and AI understand and cite it. An SMB born with AEO competes in a channel where most don't yet exist. More in our AEO explainer.
Will you guarantee the same numbers? No, and distrust anyone who does. Trade, demand and season rule. What's repeatable is the method: measure, iterate and pay against results.
